One Year “Professional Training”:
The curriculum of the Professional Training includes “classic” drum tuition as well as studio and band performance training, drums and electronics, drum progamming, bass and step dance courses and finally lessons on posture (Alexander Technique). Furthermore, there are special coachings on self-marketing and contract law. We will use modern learning methods such as e-learning and mobile learning using notebooks. The course is divided into four quarters with up to 10 lessons a week (single and group tuition). After passing the final exam every student will receive a certificate.

New: 24 Month „Professional Training“!

Drumtrainer Berlin offers a two year version of the „professional training“ course. It will consist of weekends of intensive drumtraining which will take place every two months. The course will cover all the topics of the curriculum of the one-year professional training, such as studio training, single tuition, etc.
This course is aimed at those who can’t or don’t want to move to Berlin or only have time on the weekends.
As in the one-year professional training, you will be taught only by the top drummers of our team as well as by a number of „guest stars“.

The course covers:
Rudiments, reading, jazz, rock/pop, hip hop/R’n'B, world & ethnic grooves, band performance training, studio training, drums and electronincs (electronic drums, sample players, using loops and effects), repertoire, percussion for drummers, drums and DJ, bass for drummers, programming, stepdance workshop, self-marketing, drums and health, specials and workshops… more

Teaching materials:
Drumtrainer Berlin provides music and listening examples covering all the topics of the course. Furthermore, every student will get access to our Drumtrainer music database for practise purposes. Students will have to purchase the following books: Ted Reed: Syncopation for the Modern Drummer Charly Wilcoxon: The All American Drummer Dante Agostini: Méthode de Batterie Vol. 2 John Riley: The Art of Bop Drumming Every student needs drumsticks, practise pad &stand, writing utensils, music paper and ear protection.

Every student will need an Apple Macintosh Notebook (system requirements: iBook/PowerBook G4 or better, Intel Core Duo recommended) We are ready to give you advice and to arrange good deals with Mac dealers.

To enrol for this this course students will have to pass an admission exam. We will test different styles (e.g. rock, pop-ballad, swing) and reading skills (e.g. Ted Reed …). Students not resident in Berlin may also send songs and videos via e-mail.

Fees and Costs:
Profi Training: 345,- € per month (drum training, band training, bass & drums, drums & electronic)
Profi Training Plus: 395,- € per month (additionally computer training, bass lessons, personal coaching, studio training)

24-month professional training: 395,- Euros per weekend
Full 24-month training: 4740,- Euros

Drum Triathlon training camp:
Our Drum Triathlon training camps take place regularly.

Fee per camp: 100 € (20% discount for students)

Preparation for Auditions or Conservatory:
We offer special training programs for students preparing for admission exams at conservatory or for auditions.
We recommend the “POP-Kurs” offered by the Hochschule für Musik in Hamburg to all of our students and will prepare them for the admission exam.
